Swick Mallsoft Orange

Mallsoft 2023 hits the glass with a glow that feels almost cinematic, like a sunset caught in motion. This skin‑contact blend from Joe Swick leans into texture, aromatics, and pure fun, pulling inspiration from the dreamy Vaporwave music he listens to while blending. Each grape spends 45 days on skins, creating a wine that’s both expressive and delightfully offbeat. You’ll notice how the organic and biodynamic fruit from Oregon and Washington brings energy and lift. The wine moves with a rhythm that feels playful yet intentional, offering layers that unfold slowly. It’s bottled unfined and unfiltered, giving every sip a raw, honest edge. Mallsoft is the kind of orange wine that makes you pause, smile, and go back for another pour. Tasting Notes Nose Aromas dance out immediately, offering dried apricot and honeysuckle in a warm, golden wave. Tangerine zest adds brightness, giving the bouquet a lively snap. Sun‑warmed peach drifts in, adding softness and charm. A subtle herbal note lingers underneath, grounding the fruit with savory depth. Each swirl reveals new layers, making the nose feel almost hypnotic. It’s aromatic, textural, and quietly thrilling. Palate The palate lands with medium body and a velvety, skin‑contact grip that feels both rustic and refined. Apricot and peach push forward first, creating a juicy, glowing core. Tangerine adds a citrus spark that keeps the wine energetic. Herbal tones weave through the mid‑palate, adding complexity and a savory twist. The texture stretches long, shaped by extended skin contact and neutral oak aging. Every sip feels like a small adventure, shifting between fruit, spice, and earth. Finish The finish lingers with dried stone fruit and gentle citrus, creating a warm, persistent echo. A savory herbal note tightens the ending, giving it structure and intrigue. Peach returns softly, adding a final touch of sweetness without actual sugar. The tannins stay light but present, offering a clean, confident snap. It’s a finish that invites curiosity and another slow sip. Mallsoft leaves a lasting impression that’s both playful and elegant. Food Pairing Pair this orange wine with grilled peach and burrata salad to amplify its stone‑fruit charm. Thai takeout or spicy noodles highlight its citrus and herbal notes beautifully. Aged gouda creates a savory, decadent match. It also shines with roasted root vegetables or aromatic Middle Eastern dishes.
