Sweet Drift Rose

Sweet Drift Rose (Rosa 'Meiswetdom')Sweet Drift Rose delivers a long season of soft pink color in a compact, groundcover-style shrub that keeps borders looking polished. Dense clusters of very full blooms repeat from mid spring to the first hard freeze, so you get steady color instead of a quick peak. Its low, mounding shape fills space neatly without blocking other plantings, making it easy to use in small beds and high-visibility edges. If you want reliable bloom with a clean, landscape-ready footprint, this rose fits right in. Distinctive FeaturesThis Drift-style rose produces very full, double pink flowers that open in abundant clusters for a romantic, cottage-garden effect. Bloom is continuous or in frequent flushes from mid spring through late fall, keeping the plant consistently showy. Glossy, dark green foliage provides strong contrast and helps the mound look finished between bloom cycles. Mature size is typically about 1.5 feet tall and about 2.5 feet wide with a compact, spreading habit. Growing Conditions Sun: Full sun is best for maximum bloom and the densest, healthiest growth. Soil: Plant in fertile, well-drained soil, and amend with organic matter for best performance. Water: Water deeply during establishment, then water when the top few inches of soil are dry while avoiding soggy conditions. USDA Zones: Zones 4 to 11. Spacing: Space about 2 to 3 feet apart to encourage airflow and allow the mound to fill in evenly. Ideal Uses Focal Point: Use as a focal point at the front of a sunny bed where a wide sweep of soft pink bloom can define the edge for months. Front Borders: Keeps the front of beds crisp with a low mound that does not block other plantings. Mass Planting: Plant in groups for a continuous carpet of pink that reads well from the street. Walkways: Lines paths with long-season bloom while staying compact and easy to maintain. Containers: Works well in large pots where repeat bloom and a tidy habit stay presentable with simple care. Low Maintenance Care Pruning: Cut back in late winter to early spring to refresh growth and maintain a dense, rounded shape. Deadheading: Deadheading is optional, but removing spent clusters can improve tidiness and encourage faster repeat bloom. Watering: Water at the base to keep foliage drier and support healthier growth through humid weather. Feeding: Fertilize in spring and again after the first strong bloom flush to support continuous flowering. Mulching: Mulch to conserve moisture, suppress weeds, and moderate soil temperature around the roots. Why Choose Sweet Drift Rose? Very Full Pink Clusters: Double blooms pack the plant with color for a rich, finished look. Long Bloom Window: Repeats from mid spring to the first hard freeze for months of dependable color. Compact Groundcover Habit: A low 1.5 foot mound spreads neatly to fill space without taking over. Glossy Foliage Contrast: Dark green leaves keep the planting looking clean around the flowers.
