Swanstrom - Teardrop Shape Disc Cutter

SwanstromSwanstrom® Teardrop-Shape Cutter – Precision and Durability Achieve clean, consistent teardrop shapes that release quickly and easily with the Swanstrom® teardrop-shape cutter, a tool that outperforms all others. Manufactured in the USA, Swanstrom® shape cutters are designed for decades of reliable use. Key Features: High-Quality Construction: The top and bottom plates, along with all punches, are made from S7 shock-resistant tool steel, hardened to 55 HRC for long-lasting performance. Precision-Crafted Punches: Swanstrom® cutters feature precision-ground surfaces on the punches, ensuring smooth edges that require minimal cleanup. The tight tolerances between the punches and the spring-loaded die plate guarantee clean cuts and extend the lifespan of the cutter. Secure & Easy to Use: The die plate securely clamps your material to prevent distortion while keeping your fingers safely away from the cutting area. It’s simple to adjust the cutter to accommodate your material thickness, and placing a shim of the same thickness as the material being cut on the opposite side helps maintain balance and ensures a perpendicular cut. Ideal for Various Materials: Suitable for soft materials up to 16 gauge (1.29mm) when using a mallet, and up to 10 gauge (2.59mm) when using a hydraulic press. For enhanced performance, use a urethane pad (1/16" thick, 95 durometer; not included) under the cutter to reduce noise, support the cutter, and protect your work surface. Maintenance Tips: Shim for Balance: Always position a shim of the same thickness on the opposite side of the cutter to keep the plates balanced and achieve a precise cut. Protect the Punches: Use only brass-head mallets to strike the punches and ensure the surfaces remain undamaged. Maintain Clean Cuts: Regularly use Jeweler's Basics® - Cut Ease on the cutting edges of your punches to keep them in top condition and cutting efficiently.
