Super Panthera Discus

Discus Fish (Symphysodon spp.) Often referred to as the "King of the Aquarium," the Discus Fish is one of the most beautiful and sought-after freshwater fish in the world. Renowned for its graceful, disc-shaped body and incredible variety of vibrant colors and patterns, discus are true showpiece fish. Available in stunning varieties such as Blue Diamond, Red Melon, Pigeon Blood, Leopard, Turquoise, Marlboro Red, Heckel, Albino, and countless other strains, each discus brings elegance and personality to any aquarium. Native to the slow-moving rivers, flooded forests, and blackwater tributaries of the Amazon Basin, discus thrive in warm, pristine water with stable parameters. In the aquarium, they appreciate spacious tanks with driftwood, broad-leaf plants, open swimming areas, and excellent filtration. Because they are social fish, discus should ideally be kept in groups of at least five or six individuals, allowing them to establish a natural hierarchy while displaying their calm and graceful behavior. Discus are omnivores that require a varied, high-quality diet to maintain their exceptional coloration and health. Premium discus pellets, frozen bloodworms, mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, beef heart blends formulated for discus, and other protein-rich foods should be offered multiple times each day. Consistently excellent water quality and regular maintenance are essential for long-term success. Their peaceful temperament makes discus excellent companions for Sterbai Corydoras, Cardinal Tetras, Rummy Nose Tetras, peaceful dwarf cichlids, hatchetfish, and other warm-water South American species. Aggressive or overly active fish should be avoided, as they can stress discus and compete for food.
