Super Decathlon 1.2m BNF Basic with AS3X+ and SAFE Select

The E-flite® Decathlon RJG 1.2m was highly rated and reviewed as one of the most convenient, best handling, and fun to fly models of the iconic full-scale aerobatic trainer. The E-flite Super Decathlon 1.2m delivers all the same great features and performance of the RJG model – plus more too – and by popular demand, is now factory-finished with one of the most iconic trim schemes! E-flite Super Decathlon 1.2m RC Airplane Introduction Pilots and instructors widely regard the Super Decathlon as one of the best aerobatic trainers in full-scale aviation. Its iconic design traces its roots back to the Aeronca Champ and Citabria, but was upgraded with inverted fuel and oil systems, plus a nearly symmetrical wing, to allow it to perform “outside” and inverted maneuvers with ease. The original E-flite® Decathlon RJG 1.2m quickly became known as one of the most capable, well-equipped, and easiest-to-fly models of the American aviation classic. Now it's available again with one of the most recognizable and iconic Super Decathlon trim and color schemes, featuring all the same great features and performance of the original – and even more! Featuring the same “friendly handling” airfoil and wing design, it's capable of smooth sport flying for low-time and intermediate pilots to more aggressive aerobatic flying for experienced pilots, without the “bad manners” many other Super Decathlon models are known for. It features LED landing and navigation lights along with a variety of scale details to deliver an authentic flying experience. The Super Decathlon also features improved digital, metal-geared servos throughout, along with a 3S- and 4S-compatible power system including a 45A Spektrum™ Avian™ Smart Lite ESC. Plus, the BNF Basic version now features an upgraded AR631+ receiver, delivering real-time telemetry data alongside enhanced AS3X+, SAFE Select, and Smart Transmitter File (STF) technologies. E-flite Super Decathlon 1.2m RC Airplane Overview Take the next step into, hone your skills, and perform basic to aggressive aerobatics with the E-flite® Super Decathlon 1.2m – one of the most capable and best-handling models of the classic aerobatic trainer ever! Like the original Decathlon RJG 1.2m, it's a replica of the aviation icon that's flown by professional pilots in airshows and pilots learning to fly aerobatics at their local airport. It's factory-finished with the popular and extremely recognizable red, white, and black “starburst” trim scheme, plus it features a variety of scale details, including functional LED landing and navigation lights, wheel pants, and wing struts. The one-piece wing is easy to install/remove thanks to hands-free connections and thumbscrews, and the struts snap into/out of place without the need for any fasteners or tools – even though it's conveniently sized to be easy to store and transport without disassembly! Improved digital and metal-geared servos, along with ball-link equipped linkages, provide even more precise and reliable control for smooth sport to aggressive aerobatic flying. Both versions feature a 3S and 4S 2200–3200mAh compatible power system, including a 45-amp Spektrum™ Avian™ Smart Lite ESC. The BNF Basic version is also equipped with an upgraded AR631+ receiver to deliver real-time telemetry data, enhanced AS3X+, optional-use SAFE Select and motor reversing, and a convenient Smart Transmitter File. All these details and features combine to deliver a convenient and extremely capable scale model that's an excellent choice for low-time, intermediate, and experienced pilots! And although this is one of the best-handling and easiest-to-fly Decathlon models ever, it's not a suitable first-ever RC aircraft for new pilots. You should have the experience and skills necessary to successfully fly a trainer model like the HobbyZone AeroScout 1.1m and Carbon Cub 1.3m, or models like the E-flite T-28 Trojan 1.1m, Valiant 1.3m, Turbo Timber Evolution 1.5m, and other similar class models before attempting to fly the Super Decathlon 1.2m. Are you new to flying RC (Radio Controlled) aircraft? If you are, the Super Decathlon is not a suitable first-ever RC model, and we recommend learning to fly with one of our purpose-built trainer aircraft, such as the HobbyZone® Carbon Cub S 2 1.3m (www.horizonhobby.cc/CarbonCubS2RTF). Exclusive and innovative SAFE technology enables almost anyone to learn to fly successfully! The Ready-To-Fly (RTF) Basic version includes nearly everything needed to fly (except for a compatible LiPo battery and charger sold separately). It is a perfect choice if you're a new RC pilot. You can even use the DXS transmitter included and the 3S 2200mAh battery used for the Carbon Cub S 2 RTF Basic to fly the Super Decathlon 1.2m BNF Basic version after you learn to fly RC! Bind-N-Fly Completion Level Advantage Already own a Spektrum™ transmitter? Bind-N-Fly (BNF) aircraft make getting into the air quickly and enjoying the best possible control experience easier than ever. They come out of the box with the power system, servos, and a Spektrum 2.4GHz receiver installed, so all you need to do is bind the receiver to a compatible transmitter, finish any final assembly, and fly! Exclusive Technologies The BNF Basic version Super Decathlon 1.2m is equipped with a factory-installed Spektrum AR631+ receiver that features exclusive Spektrum AS3X+ and SAFE Select technologies. Enhanced AS3X+ works behind the scenes to smooth out the effects of wind and turbulence better than ever before to deliver an even more locked-in feel that makes it seem like you're flying a much larger airplane. With optional-use SAFE Select, you can activate pitch and bank angle limits along with automatic self-leveling at the flip of a switch! If you don't want to enable the SAFE Select features, simply bind the receiver normally, and only AS3X+ will be active. Smart Transmitter File This BNF aircraft is equipped with a receiver that is loaded with a Smart Transmitter File (STF) that makes programming your transmitter as easy as a few clicks of a button. When you bind your transmitter to an STF-equipped aircraft, all programming parameters download automatically from the receiver. Switch assignments, rates, exponential, telemetry, and voice callouts configure themselves. No lengthy step-by-step instructions. No continual adjustments. Just push-button convenience that gets you flying sooner. Versatile Power The factory-installed brushless power system features a 45-amp Spektrum Avian Smart Lite ESC and a specially tuned motor that delivers abundant thrust with a 3S 2200mAh LiPo battery, or more speed and unlimited vertical performance with up to a 4S 3200mAh battery, without the need for any modifications or upgrades. Scale Features Functional LED landing and navigation lights, wing struts, and wheel pants are scale features that take your experience to another level. Iconic Scheme Factory-finished in the classic red, white, and black “starburst” trim scheme that's extremely recognizable from full-scale Super Decathlon aircraft. Easy Assembly Final assembly requires no glue, and you can have the Super Decathlon 1.2m ready to fly in less time than it takes to charge a battery! The convenient size allows it to fit fully assembled in just about any vehicle, or you can remove the one-piece wing for even easier storage and transport. Thumbscrews, hands-free connections, and quick-release struts let you remove or install the wing in just a few minutes without tools.
