SunSeekers Mineola Coneflower

SunSeekers Mineola Coneflower (Echinacea hybrid)SunSeekers Mineola Coneflower brings vivid tangerine-orange color to sunny gardens with semi-double blooms that hold their brightness through the heat of summer. Its compact, dense habit makes it especially useful in perennial borders, pollinator plantings, and patio containers where strong flower impact is needed without too much height. This variety offers the toughness gardeners expect from echinacea while adding a fuller flower form and a warmer, more saturated orange tone than many standard selections. It is an excellent choice for adding long-lasting bloom, bold seasonal color, and dependable structure to sunny landscapes. Distinctive FeaturesThis hybrid coneflower produces large semi-double to lightly layered tangerine-orange flowers with prominent dark brown to bronze-brown cones that begin greenish and deepen as they mature. The blooms are held on sturdy upright stems above dark green foliage, creating a strong and balanced display with excellent flower count through the warm season. It typically matures about 18 to 24 inches tall and 18 to 24 inches wide, forming a compact, uniform clump with dense branching. Bloom usually begins in summer and continues into early fall, with flowers holding their color well as the season progresses. Growing Conditions Sun: Plant in full sun for best flowering, strongest stems, and the most compact habit, though light part sun is tolerated. Soil: Grow in average, well-drained soil and avoid poorly drained or consistently wet planting sites. Water: Water regularly during establishment, then provide average to low water, allowing the soil to dry somewhat between waterings. Zones: Hardy in USDA Zones 4 to 9. Habit: This variety has a compact, dense, upright clump-forming habit with strong branching and sturdy stems. Bloom Season: Expect flowering from summer into early fall, with the heaviest display from midsummer through late summer. Ideal Uses Focal Point: Use its vivid tangerine-orange blooms as a focal point in sunny borders where warm color can energize and anchor surrounding plant combinations. Borders: Place it near the front or middle of perennial beds where its compact size and fuller flower form can be appreciated up close. Containers: Grow it in large patio containers for a bold, manageable display with strong seasonal impact. Pollinator Gardens: Add it to butterfly and pollinator plantings to support bees and butterflies through the bloom season. Cut Flowers: Harvest the blooms for fresh arrangements where the sturdy stems and bright flowers perform beautifully. Low Maintenance Care Watering: Keep soil evenly moist during the first growing season, then water mainly during extended dry periods once established. Deadheading: Remove faded flowers to encourage continued bloom and keep the plant looking tidy through the season. Feeding: Apply compost or only light fertilizer in spring, since overly rich soil can reduce the plant's sturdy, compact growth. Cleanup: Cut stems back in late fall or late winter, or leave some seed heads standing briefly for added texture and seasonal interest. Tolerance: Once established, this variety is commonly noted for good drought tolerance and deer resistance. Why Choose SunSeekers Mineola Coneflower?
