Sunjoy Sequins® Barberry (Berberis thunbergii)

Sunjoy Sequins® puts a fresh spin on a classic favorite with its one-of-a-kind variegated foliage. In spring, new growth emerges speckled in shades of white, pink, and green—like nature’s own confetti. As summer settles in, mature foliage shifts to green while new growth continues to bring that same playful pattern. Then, as cooler temperatures arrive, the entire plant takes on a soft pink overlay for a stunning late-season display. Larger than most barberries, Sunjoy Sequins® is ideal for hedging, foundation plantings, or anywhere you want long-lasting color with minimal effort. Like all Sunjoy® barberries, it’s deer resistant, low maintenance, and adaptable to a variety of soils. 3-4 feet tall and wide at maturity Hardy in zones 4-8, be sure to check your USDA zone to ensure success Plant in full sun (6+ hours daily) Space plants 3-4 feet apart for best results Maintains an artistic display of foliage- emerging speckled pink, white and green in spring before aging to green and then pink in cooler weather, all while new foliage emerges multicolored until frost Resists deer and disease Great for containers, borders, low hedges, landscapes and mass planting Drought tolerant, foliage interest, fall interest Care: Fertilize with Proven Winners Continuous Release Plant Food in spring and mid-summer. Adaptable but prefers well-drained soil.
