In her latest body of work, Sarana Haeata explores the immersive nature of memory and its enduring relationship to nostalgia. Working with layered acrylic and oil pastel, she builds richly textured surfaces that reflect how past experiences leave lasting impressions over time. Her compositions evoke the fluidity of recollection—moments that blur, shift, and expand, existing just beyond clear definition. Within these works, memories move between softness and precision. Some appear hazy and in motion, while others surface as sharp, detailed fragments that resist fading. Through this interplay, Haeata captures the complexity of remembering, revealing memory as both all-encompassing and elusive, continually shaping how the past resonates in the present.
