Peaceful Valley Summer Soil Builder Mix - Raw Seed (lb)

The Peaceful Valley Summer Soil Builder Mix is an excellent option for gardeners and small-scale farmers aiming to improve soil health naturally during the warm season. This annual cover crop blend includes Red Cowpeas along with fast-growing Buckwheat. Together, these species work to suppress weeds, prevent erosion, and enrich the soil with organic matter and nutrients. Ideal for sustainable farming and regenerative garden practices, this mix supports a thriving soil ecosystem without the use of synthetic fertilizers. Best planted in late spring or early summer once soil temperatures are warm, this mix thrives in full sun and well-drained soils. The dense canopy helps retain moisture and shades out unwanted weed growth. As the plants reach bloom stage, they can be mowed or turned under to begin decomposing and feeding the soil.  Use this mix to rest garden beds, prepare new planting areas, or build long-term soil vitality between growing seasons. It’s a practical, low-maintenance way to cultivate better soil biology, structure, and fertility.
