The Author, Chad Ferguson, Pro Catfish Guide My name is Chad Ferguson and I’m a Texas based professional catfish guide. I own and operate North Texas Catfish Guide Service and the Catfish Edge and Learn To Catch Catfish websites. I’ve been fishing for channel catfish my entire life, and I make my living by getting fish on the end of the fishing line for my clients. I’ve been a professional catfish guide for fifteen years. I developed the Summer Channel Catfish Techniques program because I wanted a way to teach catfish anglers across the country how to go out and catch more fish. Years ago, I used to go to the lake and find what “looked like a good spot” and wait for the fish to come along. Sometimes I caught fish but most of the time I would catch one or two, if I was “lucky”. Needless to say, it was frustrating not catching fish. Then I dedicated all of my fishing to catfish. I learned everything I could about locating and catching them and I spent countless hours on the water learning what worked and what didn’t. Through a lot of trial and error, and thousands and thousands of hours fishing, I learned what makes these fish “tick”.
