Studlock DIY Bracket

This is the hidden bracket behind our floating shelves, sold on its own for the DIYer building or sourcing their own board. If you are buying a shelf from us, you do not need it — the right bracket already comes with every shelf. But if you have your own slab of wood between 1.5 and 1.75 inches thick, this is how you make it float: a 100% steel bracket that mounts to the wall and slides invisibly into the back of your board, so nothing shows underneath. It is the patented Studlock design, cut, welded, and powder-coated in a semi-gloss black in our own shop. It comes in five lengths — 10, 16, 22, 34, and 46 inches — each matched to a board length, so you order the bracket that fits your shelf rather than guessing: a 10-inch bracket suits boards up to about 18 inches, on up to the 46-inch bracket for boards approaching 60. Support rods come in 4- or 6-inch depths to match how deep your board is, and every bracket ships with wood screws, two per rod. Fastened into the studs, it holds up to fifty pounds per stud.
