Striped Onyx Palm Stone

Striped Onyx is a banded variety of chalcedony (microcrystalline quartz) prized for its rippling layers of black, white, and warm tan. This palm stone is smooth and rounded, sized to sit comfortably in the hand, with the natural banding visible across its polished surface. Please note: some banded/striped onyx on the market is color-enhanced or dyed to intensify the contrast between bands. If this matters to you, ask us about the treatment status of this specific piece. Palm stones like this one have a long history as portable, tactile crystal tools — smooth and shaped for the hand rather than for display alone. Many people keep one nearby during quiet, centering moments; see more in our balance & wellness and palm stones collections, or pair it with our Onyx Worry Stone for a two-piece hand-stone set. How to use itHold the stone in your palm and trace your thumb across the banded surface during a quiet break, or keep it on a desk or nightstand as a grounding touchpoint. Because each stone is natural, the banding, color, and exact size vary piece to piece, so yours will be unique. Care & cleansingWipe clean with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive or ultrasonic cleaners and extended soaking, which can dull the polish or affect any color enhancement over time. Many people cleanse onyx with sound, smoke from dried herbs (see our smudging & herbs), or moonlight rather than water. Frequently asked questions What is a striped onyx palm stone used for? It's a smooth, hand-sized mineral specimen traditionally associated with grounding, protection, and steadiness in crystal folklore. This is a decorative/symbolic piece, not a health product or medical device. Is striped onyx water-safe? A quick rinse is fine, but avoid long soaking or harsh chemicals, especially since some banded onyx is color-enhanced and prolonged water exposure could affect that finish over time. Is the banding and color natural? The banding pattern is a natural feature of this chalcedony variety, though the contrast between bands is sometimes enhanced through dyeing, as with many onyx products on the market. How do I cleanse and recharge a palm stone? Many people use sound, smoke from dried herbs, or rest it near moonlight overnight. Avoid prolonged water soaking. How can I tell if striped onyx is genuine? Genuine banded onyx feels cool, smooth, and glassy with visible natural layering. Weight and polish should feel consistent and substantial for its size, unlike lightweight glass or resin imitations. What pairs well with striped onyx? It pairs nicely with other grounding stones like hematite or black tourmaline for a steady, protective set.
