Stretch

Stretch Donna Isham (United States) Acrylic on stretched canvas Size: 36"W x 48"H Framing available upon request Stretch is a bold figurative painting by Donna Isham, combining expressive brushwork with a strong sense of physical presence. A standing female figure emerges from a textured field of gray, red, violet, black, and cream, her body rendered with energetic strokes that emphasize movement, confidence, and form. Stretch is part of Isham's ongoing exploration of the female form as it celebrates resilience, courage, and self-possession. Painted from a distinctly female perspective, the work honors the strength that exists within vulnerability.  Isham’s handling of paint is tactile and immediate, allowing the figure to feel both sculptural and emotionally alive. The surrounding abstraction heightens the figure’s presence, creating a dynamic tension between body and background. Sensual, assertive, and visually commanding, Stretch is an original contemporary artwork for collectors drawn to expressive figurative painting and modern interpretations of the human form.
