Stress Management Coping Skills (PDF)

Stress management coping skills are techniques that individuals use to feel calmer and improve performance when faced with challenges. One thing to note is that techniques may vary depending on a client’s age and their preference. For instance, while adults use problem-solving techniques more, younger clients benefit from breathing exercises and visualization. This Stress Management Coping Skills PDF handout can be used as a tool in therapy sessions or for personal development. First, it defines coping skills and then presents specific examples, such as enjoying nature, watching movies, and taking a nap. Kids and teens who use these coping skills may experience lower anxiety levels, more positive interactions, healthier relationships, and increased resilience.
