Strength ~ Uruz Charm

The image side of this Rune shows a series of arches built on top of one another, supported by strong boundary lines. This refers to the ability to endure and progress with insights gained from experience and understanding of personal actions. The Symbol side of this piece shows the Uruz rune, which is derived  from the Proto-Germanic word “ūruz” meaning “aurochs”, a now-extinct species of wild ox. Uruz, is a symbol of raw strength and untamed potential. It embodies the spirit of endurance, symbolizing the ability to face challenges head-on. As an embodiment of primal power this rune carries the essence of vitality, and the strength of inner will. This rune is a powerful reminder of your inherent capability to overcome challenges through sheer determination and hard work Uruz belongs to the First Aett, which represents the cycle of life. These are the core aspects of human existence, and the necessary phases that each of us must experience during our journey through this life. These aspects of life can be taken literally, or they can be understood metaphorically to represent current forces and events. Uruz allows you to reach into your core sources, drawing strength from your experiences and the knowledge that you can manage adversity. The Norse Rune or "letter" featured on one side of my Runes is taken from a writing system called Elder Futhark. There are many explanations of this Norse writing system in both classical and popular literature. The image side of every Rune represents emotional attributes of its Nordic letter and are pictograms of my own creation. Each Rune description includes an etymological reference of historical origins well as modern meanings. There are a total of 24 Elder Futhark Runes. They can be divided into three groups of 8 runes each. Each group of 8 is called an “aett” which has an several underlying meanings that can be shared by all 8 runes within it. The additional insight from the Aett formation can help clarify individual rune interpretations. These beautiful, handmade Rune Charms are heavyweight, with deep carvings on both sides of the Rune. Each Rune comes with a jump ring large enough to thread on a chain.  The one shown is the  2.2mm Square Cable Chain. Runes are solid Sterling Silver and measure approximately 5/8" high x 7/16" wide x 3/32" deep.
