Stone & Sky, by Trevor Battle

Poetry, chapbook, 16 pages, from Bottlecap Features. Stone & Sky is a collection of poems that captures the timeless dance between earth and atmosphere, exploring the human connection to nature, memory, and the eternal quest for meaning. Through evocative imagery of canyons, ravines, and winding roads, these poems whisper the stories of stone and sky—stories of resilience, transformation, and the echoes of the past. Themes of solitude, self-discovery, and the passage of time intertwine, creating a lyrical meditation on the beauty of the natural world and the soul’s yearning for direction and belonging. With each piece, Stone & Sky invites readers to journey through landscapes both external and internal, where silence speaks and the unseen beckons. Born and raised in Southern California, Trevor draws inspiration from the diverse sounds of American music, blending the soul of blues, the narrative depth of folk, and the raw energy of rock 'n roll. His work, both musical and poetic, is a reflection of the human experience, shaped by the influence of legends like Robert Johnson, Bob Dylan, and Johnny Cash, alongside literary giants such as Jim Harrison, Jack Kerouac, Michael McClure, and Cormac McCarthy. When Trevor isn’t spending time with his wife and family, he spends most of his time songwriting, reading and writing. You can find his music and other information on his Instagram @trevorbattle
