Stoli Vodka 1.75L

Stoli Vodka 1.75L is a triple-distilled wheat-and-rye vodka bottled at 40% ABV (80 proof) in a 1.75-liter handle format. Rated 89 points by Wine Enthusiast, Stoli distinguishes itself through a signature quadruple filtration process that uses quartz sand and Russian birch charcoal — a production step that delivers remarkable clarity while preserving the character of its dual-grain base. Quick Facts: ABV: 40% (80 Proof)  |  Origin: Latvia  |  Style: Wheat & Rye Grain Vodka  |  Distillery: Latvijas Balzams Production & Heritage Stoli is produced at the Latvijas Balzams distillery in Latvia, a facility originally built by order of the Tsar in 1900. The vodka begins with a mashbill of wheat and rye grain, which is distilled three times before undergoing the brand's distinctive four-stage filtration: first through quartz sand, then through Russian birch charcoal, back through quartz sand a second time, and finally through fine mesh cloth. This dual-grain approach — combining wheat's softness with rye's spice — along with the meticulous filtration gives Stoli a textural complexity that sets it apart from single-grain competitors in its category. Tasting Notes Aroma: Clean and neutral on the initial nosing, with a faint malty sweetness emerging alongside aromas reminiscent of sourdough wheat bread. A subtle creaminess from the grain sits beneath the surface. Taste: The entry is crisp and lightly sweet, immediately revealing the wheat component. At mid-palate, rye-driven peppery spice builds alongside delicate herbal and licorice notes. A whisper of sweet vanilla rounds out the peak, giving it more dimension than a typical unflavored vodka. Finish: Medium in length, finishing clean and dry like wheat thins with lingering pepper and a trace of light smoke. The birch charcoal filtration keeps everything polished without stripping away character. How to Drink Stoli Stoli performs well chilled and served neat in a frozen glass, where the wheat-rye interplay is most apparent. It also works reliably over ice with a squeeze of lemon. Three cocktails where this vodka earns its keep: Moscow Mule: The peppery rye spice mirrors ginger beer's heat, creating a more integrated drink than wheat-only vodkas deliver. Vodka Martini: The clean finish and subtle grain sweetness hold up against dry vermouth without disappearing. Bloody Mary: Stoli's herbal undertones and faint smokiness complement tomato, horseradish, and celery salt naturally. Best For Stocking a home bar for regular cocktail mixing at scale Hosting large gatherings where a versatile, crowd-pleasing vodka is essential Vodka drinkers who prefer grain-forward character over total neutrality Upgrading from well vodka without moving into super-premium pricing Frequently Asked Questions What does Stoli taste like? Stoli delivers a crisp, lightly sweet profile built on creamy wheat grain, black pepper spice from its rye component, and subtle herbal and licorice undertones. The finish is clean and dry with a faint trace of smoke. How does Stoli compare to Ketel One? Ketel One is a 100% wheat vodka distilled in copper pot stills in the Netherlands, producing a softer, more citrus-leaning profile. Stoli's wheat-and-rye mashbill and birch charcoal filtration give it noticeably more peppery spice and grainy texture by comparison. Is Stoli good for cocktails? Stoli is an excellent cocktail vodka because its dual-grain character provides enough flavor to contribute to a drink without dominating other ingredients. The 89-point Wine Enthusiast rating reflects a quality level that also rewards sipping chilled and neat. Where is Stoli made? Stoli is produced at the Latvijas Balzams distillery in Latvia, a facility with roots dating to 1900. The wheat and rye grains are distilled and filtered on-site using the brand's proprietary four-stage process. What foods pair well with Stoli? Smoked salmon and blini highlight the vodka's faint smokiness. Pickled herring or cornichons play off its peppery rye spice. Dark rye bread with butter mirrors the grain character directly. Caviar served alongside chilled Stoli is a classic pairing, and hard aged cheeses like Gouda complement the malty sweetness. What sizes does Stoli come in? Stoli Vodka is widely available in 375ml, 750ml, 1L, and 1.75L formats, with this handle size being the most economical per-ounce option. Is Stoli worth the price? Stoli positions as a strong mid-range vodka — above the well tier but below ultra-premium labels — making the 1.75L format a particularly smart value for anyone who drinks vodka regularly or entertains frequently. Why Stoli? The defining edge here is the combination of a wheat-and-rye mashbill with that four-stage quartz-and-birch-charcoal filtration — a process most competitors in this price tier simply do not replicate. While many popular vodkas rely on wheat alone for a deliberately neutral result, Stoli's rye component introduces genuine spice and texture that holds up in both cocktails and chilled neat pours. The 89-point Wine Enthusiast score reinforces that this is a vodka punching above its weight class. In the 1.75L format, it represents one of the better volume-to-quality ratios available in the mid-range vodka category.
