Stoker

Sometimes you don't need exotic varietals or tasting notes that read like a dessert menu. You just want a damn good cup of coffee that hits right—morning, noon, or 2 a.m. That's Stoker. Roasted by Portland's Tandem Coffee Roasters, this is their answer to the late-night diner pour, the truck-stop thermos, the cup that fuels metalheads and hardcore grandmothers in equal measure. Tandem may be known for their meticulous light roasts, but Stoker proves they can swing dark without losing nuance. Tasting Notes Stoker delivers pleasantly sweet roastiness with a full, round body and low acidity. Expect notes of dark chocolate, toasted nuts, and a hint of caramelized sugar on the finish. There's no bitterness or burnt char here—just clean, balanced depth that works black or with cream. The roast level brings forward the sugars without obscuring origin character. It's approachable, comforting, and endlessly drinkable. Brew Methods This coffee shines in drip machines, French press, and cold brew—anywhere you want body and sweetness to take center stage. It pulls a surprisingly balanced espresso shot if you're into darker, traditional profiles. Pour-over works too, though you'll get more roast character than fruit. Whatever method you choose, Stoker is forgiving and consistent, which is exactly the point. About the Roaster Tandem Coffee Roasters operates out of Portland, Maine, with a reputation for precision and a willingness to challenge their own identity. Stoker is proof that great roasters don't need to stay in one lane. Need help dialing in your grind or choosing the right brewer?
