Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) Test by ANSA

About the test: The STI Test by ANSA is a mail-in laboratory test that checks for sexually transmitted infection in urine samples by identifying specific bacteria and other indicators associated with the infection. You collect the urine sample in privacy and send it to the lab for analysis. The laboratory utilizes highly sensitive and precise molecular techniques to detect and identify the specific bacteria that causes the infection.   What we test for: The Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) Test by ANSA will detect: CHLAMYDIA, GONORRHEA, and TRICHOMONIAIS (TRICH).   When to test: Symptoms of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) can vary depending on the specific infection. Here are some common symptoms that may indicate the presence of an STI: * Unusual genital discharge: Abnormal discharge from the penis, vagina, or anus that may be thick, colored, or have a strong odor. * Pain or discomfort during urination: A burning or painful sensation while urinating.  * Genital itching or irritation: Itching, redness, or irritation in the genital area.  * Genital sores or ulcers: Open sores, blisters, or painful ulcers on or around the genitals, anus, or mouth. * Painful intercourse: Discomfort or pain during sexual intercourse. * Abnormal vaginal bleeding: Unusual vaginal bleeding between periods, after sex, or after menopause. * Flu-like symptoms: Fever, fatigue, body aches, or swollen lymph nodes may occur in some cases. * Skin rash or bumps: Rashes, bumps, or warts in the genital area or other parts of the body. * Swollen or tender groin: Enlarged or tender lymph nodes in the groin area. It's important to note that not all STIs cause noticeable symptoms, and some infections may have mild or intermittent symptoms. Additionally, symptoms can overlap with other conditions, so it's crucial to get tested if you have any concerns or have engaged in risky sexual behavior. If you suspect you may have an STI, it's important to consult a healthcare professional for proper diagnosis, testing, and treatment.   How the test works: Register your test kit before using it. However, if you are sexually active, it is always a good idea to regularly test to monitor your sexual health because some STIs may have no symptoms. If your test results are negative but you have symptoms, contact your healthcare provider to confirm the results If you test positive for an STI, consider additional testing, and get treatment from your healthcare provider. In addition, inform your sex partners. A negative result can bring peace of mind, but a positive result can produce mixed emotions including shame, anger, and fear.
