In Ancient Mayan culture, royalty wore cuff bracelets because it was an indicator of their high social class. In Ancient Egypt, cuff bracelets were decorated in stones and worn for decorative purposes. Ancient Greeks wore metals  cuffs for fashion purposes as well as in combat for protection. Today, the cuff bracelets are still known as a bold, durable fashion piece worn by many.
