STEP IT UP WITH 5 YARD QUILTS

Fabric Café, the home of the original 3-yard quilt method, is stepping up the fun with its latest release: Step It Up With 5-Yard Quilts, a new pattern book featuring eight quilt designs created with just five 1-yard cuts of fabric. This 24-page book invites quilters to “dance” through their next project with patterns inspired by the rhythm and movement of dance. From the graceful flow of Waltz to the energetic beats of Hip Hop and Jitterbug, each quilt design brings its own flair while keeping construction simple and approachable. Book Highlights: • Eight quilt patterns inspired by dance: Autumn Ballet, Bolero, Disco, Hip Hop, Jitterbug, Salsa, Tango, and Waltz. • Simple fabric requirements: each pattern uses just five 1-yard cuts of fabric. • Directional fabric: six patterns include special notes for working with directional prints. • Multiple size options: enlargement instructions for queen/king size. “Quilting has always been about creativity and joy,” said Fran Morgan.” “With Step It Up With 5-Yard Quilts, we wanted to bring that same sense of movement and fun to the sewing room, making it easy for quilters to turn fabric into art that truly dances.” Pre-orders open September 22, 2025, with shipping scheduled for late September.
