Step 2 — Pool Training Sessions

Pool training is the hands-on portion of your beginner scuba certification path. You’ll work with an instructor in a controlled pool environment, become comfortable using scuba equipment, and develop the skills needed before moving on to open-water certification dives.  Need a different schedule? Private and semi-private pool training may be available on custom dates and times, depending on instructor and pool availability. Contact Pro Dive to discuss options. This is Step 2 of the Pro Dive beginner scuba training process. Step 1 — Online Learning must be fully completed before attending your first pool session. Before Your First Pool Session Before attending pool training, every student must complete a required pre-pool preparation visit at Pro Dive. This required preparation visit helps make sure your paperwork, equipment, and training requirements are all ready before you arrive at the pool. During your visit, we will: Complete and review your required course paperwork Review your online-learning results and answer any remaining questions Fit your training BCD and other provided equipment Check the fit and suitability of your required personal gear Make sure you know exactly what to bring to the pool This preparation helps prevent avoidable equipment and fit problems during training and gives you an opportunity to become familiar with the gear you’ll be using. Choose Your Pool Training Schedule Each pool training schedule includes two required sessions. Both dates shown are part of the same training schedule, and students must attend both sessions to complete pool training. Please choose a schedule that works for you on both listed dates. Need a different schedule? Contact Pro Dive before booking to ask about private or semi-private training options. Student Gear Benefits Enrolled Pro Dive students receive exclusive in-store pricing on required personal gear, wetsuits, and major scuba equipment. During your pre-pool preparation visit, we’ll review what you already own, check proper fit, explain what is required for training, and go over the student offers currently available. Gear purchased through Pro Dive also includes our fit support throughout your course. If equipment we helped fit is not working properly during training, bring it back and we’ll help correct the fit or arrange an appropriate size exchange. Booking and Attendance Policy Each booking reserves one of a limited number of student spaces and commits pool time, instructor time, and training equipment specifically for that schedule. Once booked, the reservation is final and applies only to the two listed sessions. Pool training bookings are non-refundable and cannot be moved to another scheduled class. Students must attend both sessions. Missing either session or arriving too late to participate will require booking and paying for a new pool training schedule. Please confirm that you are available for both dates before completing your booking. If Pro Dive is unable to hold a scheduled session, we will provide affected students with a replacement date at no additional charge. After Pool Training After successfully completing pool training, the next step is Step 3 — Open-Water Certification Dives, sometimes called checkout dives in the scuba industry. Pool training by itself does not complete your scuba certification. Certification is earned after successfully completing the required open-water certification dives.
