Stema - Vintage Distressed Rug - 5'5 X 8'8

This hand-woven, one-of-a-kind piece celebrates Anatolian heritage through a flatwoven construction featuring a faded patina, abrash detail, and overdyed finish. With its low-pile, no-shed, high-traffic durable, layering-friendly, and underfloor-heating safe profile, this reversible weave offers a soft-touch, distressed character with ghost-pattern 70s craftsmanship, a cotton-polyester blend, single-piece artisanal quality, and sun-bleached tones. About This Style Vintage rugs are designed to evoke an antique aesthetic, often featuring faded tones, abrash-like colour variation, or worn-look surface treatments. These pieces reference the mid-20th-century Anatolian hand-weaving tradition, where items were produced in small village workshops using regional motifs. Distressing is a surface treatment that mimics age, often resulting from decades of use combined with overdyeing, which creates a saturated colour wash while leaving ghost traces of the original pattern visible on the surface. Where It Works The flatwoven construction allows this rug to lie flat against the floor, making it highly functional for high-traffic areas such as hallways, entryways, or kitchens. Its thin profile is ideal for layering over larger carpets and is fully compatible with underfloor heating systems. Why Choose This Rug? — Features a distinct yellow palette with a distressed finish that highlights the intricate ghost-pattern and historical design motifs. — Constructed from a cotton and polyester blend; the cotton provides natural breathability, while the polyester adds long-term durability and moisture resistance. — The flatwoven, no-pile design ensures the rug remains stable underfoot, resists shedding, and is easy to clean in active households. — These rugs reference the Anatolian hand-weaving tradition; each piece is one-of-a-kind, with minor variations in colour and pattern that are characteristic of vintage-style production. — Highly versatile for heavy-use zones, offering a durable solution that is both layering-friendly and safe for use over underfloor heating.
