Stay Downwind

Victoria LaRue is brutally murdered by a mysterious stranger at midnight in a Nashville cemetery. Alita King’s idyllic life in New Smyrna Beach shatters when Homicide Detective Harold Blate calls to inform her of her sister Victoria’s murder. Alita flies to Nashville to meet with Blate but leaves with more questions than answers. When she sees her sister’s charred remains at the funeral home, she vows to find the monster who did that to her—with or without Blate’s help. Her only ally is Luke O’Connor, a prominent record producer who discovered Victoria’s body on a Sunday morning run. Victoria’s killer, an ever-changing chameleon who can walk without leaving a footprint and stalk without casting a shadow, claims more victims. He writes about his murders and sends the chapters to a sleazy L.A. literary agent who thinks the book-in-progress is fiction. Alita finds roadblocks at every turn, faces danger, risks arrest, and uncovers dark family secrets in her quest to find her sister’s killer. Will she be successful, or will she be the killer’s next target?
