Starlight Distillery Sakura Finished Bourbon Batch 03

Age: 8-Years old Proof:  About: Starlight Sakura Reserve Bourbon represents a truly singular expression in the Starlight whiskey portfolio — one that bridges American craft distilling with the ancient beauty of Japanese Sakura. This limited release begins with estate-distilled bourbon crafted using Starlight’s traditional sweet mash process and double pot distillation. After eight years of maturation in new charred American oak barrels, select barrels are finished in rare Japanese Sakura casks — one of the most unique and delicate woods ever used in whiskey maturation. Bottled at cask strength, this is a bourbon of both substance and elegance, with the bold structure of a mature Starlight Bourbon softened and elevated by the unmistakable character of Sakura.   The Sakura Influence: Sakura — the Japanese cherry blossom tree — holds a place of deep cultural reverence in Japan, celebrated for centuries as a symbol of beauty, renewal, and fleeting perfection. As a whiskey finishing wood, Sakura is extraordinarily rare, imparting a profile unlike any other cask influence in the world. When used to finish Starlight’s eight-year bourbon, Sakura weaves delicate floral aromatics, fresh cherry, and layers of sweet spice into the spirit’s mature foundation. The result is a whiskey of remarkable refinement — bold enough to carry its cask strength character, yet graceful enough to reveal the quiet elegance that only Sakura can provide.
