The Staple Starter is used to help get the staple in the wood and protect your fingers. Insert the staple into the slot and hammer in the pin. Once the staple is set in the wood, take Staple Starter off and hammer in the staple directly. Not for use with the Tuckaway Staple. Use this staple starter with standard fence staples up to 8 gauge Works for 1 1/4", 1 1/2", and 1 3/4 staples Will not fit 2" staples
