Standing Agate Geode Specimen

Approximately 9x6" Agate is a banded variety of chalcedony, a microcrystalline form of quartz known for its fine grain, translucent quality, and richly layered color. Each piece forms in its own strange little rhythm, creating patterns that can look like landscapes, smoke, water, or whatever else your mind can dream up. It’s a lot like looking at clouds and telling the person next to you, “It’s a dragon!” only for them to turn to you and say, “Nah, it’s Tina Turner.” Agate has been admired for thousands of years, both as a beautiful mineral specimen and as a stone with a long history of folklore. Ancient Greek writers connected it with protection and strength, while later traditions associated agate with clarity, luck, and a steadying influence. In medieval Europe, it was even tied to the horns of oxen in hopes of encouraging a strong harvest. You know, just normal farmer things. According to metaphysics: Known as the stabilizer, Agate crystal is the stone to call on for support when you need stability and grounding in your life. It transforms negative energy into positive energy. Agate enhances mental function, improves concentration, enhances perception and analytical abilities. It is a soothing and calming gemstone that heals inner anger, anxiety and helps in the strengthening of relationships. Agate instills security and safety.
