A synbiotic is a combination of probiotics, beneficial microorganisms that support good health, and prebiotics, fibers that feed the probiotics. Research shows the presence of prebiotic fiber within a synbiotic may help the probiotic survive the acidity of the GI tract, allowing your child to get more out of their supplement.1 How do I give SP Children’s® ProSynbiotic to my child? Pick a time of day to start SP Children's® ProSynbiotic with your child — you know their routine best. However, for optimal absorption and your convenience, we recommend taking it at mealtime. Take 1 stick pack from your container and pour it into a cold or room-temperature food or drink, such as smoothies, yogurt, applesauce, oatmeal, or chocolate milk. Stir into food or liquid until it’s fully mixed. Bacteria are fragile, so avoid heat, blenders, and food processors, as these can impact the viability of the probiotics. Enjoy within 30 minutes. SP Children's® ProSynbiotic doesn’t require refrigeration, so feel free to store it on your countertop. Which probiotics are included, and how many CFUs does the product contain? Each serving contains 30 billion CFU at the time of manufacture from three clinically-studied probiotic strains: • Lactobacillus acidophilus DDS-1® • Bifidobacterium lactis UABLa-12® • Saccharomyces boulardii Why does SP Children's® ProSynbiotic contain multiple strains of probiotics? Different probiotic strains have different roles. DDS-1® and UABLa-12® help support normal bowel function, microbial balance,2 and immune health,3 while S. boulardii is a resilient probiotic yeast known to support healthy stool consistency and microbial balance.4,5 Including a diversity of probiotic and yeast strains is ideal for supporting overall digestive health, regularity, and immune function. What makes the prebiotic and fiber blend unique? Each serving provides 3 grams of total dietary fiber from six complementary plant-based sources — inulin, organic oat fiber, green banana flour, Royal Ancient Oats™, apple pectin, and organic beetroot. This blend offers both soluble and insoluble fibers that support stool hydration, regularity, microbial diversity, and the production of beneficial short-chain fatty acids. How is SP Children's® ProSynbiotic different from other children’s probiotics? SP Children's® ProSynbiotic relies on non-diluted probiotic concentrates in which the viable microorganisms are present in their original, high-density state without being blended with carriers, fillers, or excipients that would reduce the total concentration of active organisms. The freeze-dried probiotic powders in many children’s probiotic products are diluted concentrates with a lower CFU count and often rely on maltodextrin as a carrier. SP Children's® ProSynbiotic is also gluten-free, vegan, and non-soy, with a neutral flavor that mixes easily into foods. How long should my child take SP Children's® ProSynbiotic? It can be taken daily for both long-term and short-term support. • Short-term gut/antibiotic support: 1-3 weeks* • Longer-term digestive, immune, or skin support: 3-6 months or longer* Is SP Children's® ProSynbiotic suitable for sensitive children (allergies, special diets, picky eaters)? Our kid-approved formula is gluten-free, non-soy, and vegan, making it suitable for a wide range of dietary needs. It offers a neutral flavor, mixes easily into foods, and provides microbiome and fiber support, making it a beneficial solution for children with low-fiber diets, selective eating habits, or microbiome imbalance due to modern lifestyle factors.* When will we notice the benefits from SP Children's® ProSynbiotic? Everyone’s body is unique, so the benefits one may experience (ease of bloating or more frequent bowel movements) typically depend on many factors, including lifestyle, environment, and underlying health conditions. One may see results in as soon as 24-48 hours due to localized digestive support, though longer-term benefits for gut-immune function or skin health may take longer. With daily use, SP Children's® ProSynbiotic is doing the work to support your child’s digestive and immune health.* References: 1. Markowiak, P., Śliżewska, K. Nutrients.
