The Shruti Box is an Indian Professional Drone Instrument that provides a steady tone for a myriad of uses, including sound healing, meditation, and chanting. Professional Shruti boxes are crafted to deliver exceptional tonal quality and durability, making them ideal for both beginners and advanced practitioners. Each box has a full chromatic scale ranging from C2 to C3 in a 440Hz concert or 432Hz healing pitch. Dimensions: 16 x 2.75 x 12 Weight 12 Pounds Which size is for you?? The main difference between the sizes of professional Shruti boxes lies in the amount of air in the bellows. Smaller sizes require more frequent pumping as they hold less air, whereas larger sizes provide greater sustain and ease of play. Smaller sizes are lighter and more travel-friendly, perfect for those hosting sound baths or traveling musicians. If you primarily play at home and do not travel often, consider the standard or compact sizes, weighing approximately 11 pounds. 440htz vs 432htz? 440Hz is the standard tuning for most instruments, while 432Hz is often referred to as the "healing frequency." Though scientific evidence is limited, many users report positive experiences with 432Hz. Professional Shruti boxes allow you to explore both frequencies, offering versatility to create a personalized experience. The Bowring Foot Pedal? The Bowring foot pedal, crafted from bamboo, is an excellent accessory for hands-free playing. It’s perfect for musicians who play other instruments like guitar, handpan, or flute, as it keeps the steady drone of the professional Shruti box in the background. This is especially beneficial for sound bath hosts seeking consistency and ease. Maintenance of the boxes Hearing a buzzing sound? Don’t worry; this is common with metal reed instruments. You’ll need a metal nail file and a Phillips-head screwdriver. For a tutorial, email Jarrod@brooklynHealingArts.com, and we’ll send you a video guide. Avoid placing the Shruti box near heat sources like radiators or open flames. These boxes are made of durable teak wood, renowned for its natural oils, water resistance, and decay resistance. With proper care, your professional Shruti box will last for years—just be sure not to drop it!
