Moss Rose Quilt Unknown Quilt Maker Circa 1860 84 x 84  inches Origin Unknown; Found in Idaho Very fine quilting covers the surface of this mid-19th century Rose applique quilt.  The quilt maker worked in tiny stitches measuring about 10 to the inch (counting one side only), and made elaborate designs including feathers and triple rod lines. S/he created the Roses with both applique and reverse-applique techniques, and added a fine white blanket stitch to outline them, even those in the elaborate border. All hand done. The quilt came to me washed ... bright and clean  A few small light spots remain here and there.
