Iris Quilt

Iris Quilt  Unknown Quilt Maker Circa 1940 74 x 87 inches Origin Unknown; Strearns & Foster sold commercial quilt batting under the name "Mountain Mist." Sometime in the early 1900's, Mountain Mist created patterns for quilts,  and printed those patterns on the paper that wrapped their batting.  (See photos.) The small images of many patterns are on the outside, and the full paper pattern of just one of those designs is on the inside. This "Iris" design is one of those Mountain Mist-designed patterns. It must have sold well because many examples made from the early to mid-20th century are still around.  We're happy to be able to offer this one! Hand appliquéd and hand quilted, the quilt remains in very good condition.  The cotton fabrics are sturdy, and the quilt is thin and lightweight.  It measures 74 x 87 inches.   ___________________________________________________________________________ Before you purchase, please read below:  We want you to be happy with your purchase.  For this reason, all our quilts are sold On Approval (unless noted that it is sold As-Is).
