Stance Vase

The Audo Copenhagen Stance Vase does exactly what its name suggests - it provides a confident base for displaying branches and long-stemmed flowers without the bulk of traditional vases. Designed by Colin King, this vase takes inspiration from traditional display stands and distills them down to this simple, sculptural form in bronzed brass. Available in 40cm and 50cm heights, both with a narrow 11cm diameter base, it's designed specifically for those dramatic single stems, bare branches, or tall flowers that look awkward in wide-mouthed vases where they flop around. The slender proportions mean it works on narrow console tables, windowsills, or shelves where typical vases would take up too much surface space. The bronzed brass patinates beautifully over time, developing that lived-in character that makes it look better with age rather than just showing wear. What makes the Stance genuinely useful is how it handles the reality of displaying tall botanicals - that narrow opening naturally supports stems without needing elaborate arrangements or filler greenery to prop everything up. Perfect for dramatic pussy willows, flowering quince branches, single pampas grass stems, or tall gladiolus that need height without visual weight at the base. The understated design means it works equally well in minimalist spaces where it becomes a sculptural accent, or in more eclectic interiors where it blends without competing for attention. The two height options let you choose based on what you're displaying and where it's going - the 40cm works on tables and shelves, while the 50cm creates more dramatic impact on floor-level consoles or pedestal surfaces. The bronzed finish is forgiving about handling marks and fingerprints, developing that natural patina that adds depth rather than looking uniformly polished forever. Works beautifully year-round with seasonal branches, or left empty as a sculptural object that adds vertical interest to surfaces. Audo Copenhagen was formed by uniting MENU, by Lassen, and The Audo, creating a brand that collaborates with designers like Colin King who bring fresh perspectives from unexpected backgrounds. Professionally trained as a dancer before moving into styling and product design, King works at the intersection of spatial awareness and aesthetic sensibility from his Tribeca studio. His work for publications like Architectural Digest and T Magazine informs his product designs, which draw continuous inspiration from everyday rituals, gestures, and imperfections. The Stance Vase reflects this philosophy - simple, sophisticated, and sculptural - creating functional objects that enhance daily life through thoughtful design that lends itself to any setting while developing character over time.
