Pascal et Alain Lorieux 2023 "Expression" St. Nicolas de Bourgueil

Tasting Notes The 2023 “Expression” from Pascal et Alain Lorieux is crafted entirely from 100% Cabernet Franc, the sole red varietal of St‑Nicolas‑de‑Bourgueil. According to producer and retailer descriptions, the wine shows a brilliant ruby robe with violet reflections, opening on a fresh, expressive bouquet of red fruits such as cherry, raspberry, and redcurrant, accompanied by light vegetal notes, floral hints, and subtle spice. On the palate, it is described as supple, fresh, and medium‑bodied, with silky tannins, bright acidity, and a fruit‑driven, balanced profile that makes it especially easy to drink. The finish is noted as fresh, convivial, and lightly spiced, emphasizing its approachable and youthful character. Food pairings for this cuvée highlight its versatility and affinity for simple, flavorful dishes. The wine is recommended with charcuterie, grilled meats, and light cheeses, reflecting its freshness and moderate structure. Broader tasting summaries for this bottling also suggest excellent harmony with lamb, poultry, vegetarian dishes, and goat’s milk cheeses, which complement the wine’s red‑fruit core and gentle herbal undertones. 750ml
