The most popular and possibly most painted plaza in the world. I thought my chance of breathing new life into the subject lies in the composition. For this scene, I have chosen a uncommon angle, one that allows the Ducale building to be "chopped" in half by the pillar, and one that brings the Marciana building into view, so that together, they framed the St. Mark's Basilica in the background. This painting is the 2nd Place winner at an international watercolor festival Le Venezie in Venice, Italy. Medium: Watercolor on paper Dimension: 15” x 11” (38.1cm x 27.94cm) Please note that the dimension shown is the size of the paper which includes about ½” white border on all sides.
