SR9607CD RETURN ENGAGEMENT

Return Engagement. Dance Music for Intermediate levels by Josu Gallastegui. Return Engagement's 23 piano pieces for ballet class demonstrate why Josu Gallastegui is so beloved by dancers and ballet teachers worldwide. With 77 minutes of music by Bizet, Brahms, Massenet, Mendelssohn, Rossini, Verdi and others, this collection is fresh, inspiring, romantic, and unforgettable. Here, Gallastegui celebrates the classical music tradition, but he ventures far beyond the standard ballet repertoire. His selections are inventive, but also keenly suited to a dancer's needs. An accomplished accompanist, arranger, and composer, Gallastegui has won the praise of ballet's most celebrated artists. Mikhail Baryshnikov calls Gallastegui a superb musician with a remarkable sensitivity for ballet. Susan Jaffe says that his accompaniment is 'deeply creative, wonderfully musical, and completely enjoyable to dance to. 'Renowned master teacher David Howard sums up his take succinctly: (Josu is) a unique pianist. I love his music.
