Split Foam Back™ Midges

Split Foam Back™ Midges — tiny flies, enormous ego Meet the Split Foam Back™ Midge: the midge pattern that shows up to the hatch looking like it actually knows what it’s doing. Tiny, balanced, and annoyingly effective — these flies make trout reconsider their life choices. Who it’s for: Anglers who value precision over poker faces — dry-fly purists, streamer dabblers, and anyone who believes small things can cause big mayhem on the water. Built for AXG Life — Life, Adventure-Ready. Key Features & Design Foam wing casing: Split foam back design uses foam for the wing casing to create a realistic profile and consistent flotation. Perfect balance: Foam body placement gives exceptional balance that helps the fly ride naturally and consistently. Micro detail: Incredible detail for such a small pattern — realistic silhouette and subtle action that fools picky trout. Proven pattern: The Split Foam Back™ is the most successful midge pattern the maker has produced — small, stubborn, and effective. Performance & Benefits These midges solve the classic tiny-fly problems: they float where you want them, present naturally, and resist spinning like a miniature circus top. The split foam construction means you get consistent buoyancy even on slower drifts and sketchy currents — no more praying the fly behaves. Use them for tight-lipped trout on calm water, picky feeders during midge hatches, or as a reliable dry-dropper partner when you want that delicate upper fly to actually look lifelike. In short: they turn stuck weekends into hero stories and are perfectly happy being blamed for your best catch. Materials & build: Foam wing casing and foam-backed body for balance and flotation; micro-scale detailing for realistic presentation. Toss a pack of Split Foam Back™ Midges into your fly box and watch subtlety do the heavy lifting. Add to cart and make your next hatch story sound intentionally cinematic.
