AXG Life — Life, Adventure-Ready. Who it's for For dry-skein perfectionists, stealthy river lurkers, and anyone who prefers their flies to do the convincing. If you chase trout on the North Platte or anywhere picky trout congregate, this pattern matters. Key Features & Design Pattern: Split Foam Back™ designed as a midge pattern Color: Blue Wing Olive (BWO) Material: Incorporates a small bit of dense foam for durability and realism Buoyancy: Foam adds a subtle lift—enough to sit right in the film or ride higher when you want it to Origin: Tied for the Grey Reef section of the North Platte River—crafted with real water-tested intent Performance & Benefits Why choose the Split Foam Back™? Because it solves the classic midge dilemma: realistic presentation without sinking into invisibility. The dense foam chunk gives the fly just enough profile to read like a natural midge while adding slight buoyancy so it rides true in the film or suspends where trout expect snacks. This pattern excels when trout are picky or when you need a stealthy offering that still shows up to the party. It turns stuck weekends into hero stories, helps you outwit spooky fish, and is built for those early-river sessions, last-light hatches, and questionable decisions that become memorable casts. Durable, subtle, and purposeful—the Split Foam Back™ keeps its shape and its soul, cast after cast. Ready to fish? Toss a few in your vest, whisper sweet nothings to the current, and let the Blue Wing Olive do the convincing. Add to cart and make your next drift worth retelling.
