Splash & Dive

In the depths is a whale of a world where belugas, vaquitas, humpbacks, greys, orcas, false killers, minkes, and sei roam. Pursued by lovers of gentle giants that delight in epic breaches off sandy beaches, allow these creatures to add splash to your palette and air bubbles to melt into your vast imagination. This book is great for the aquarium and ocean lovers that are interested in learning more about the gentle giants that live in the sea. With animal names on each page, all ages can discover the many different species and bring them to life through color!  Illustrated by local artist, Aemi Sullivan, she encourages you to dive deep and really admire these fascinating animals.  "I am very fascinated by whales. My inspiration goes back as early as watching Free Willy over and over with my 5 siblings and then visiting Keiko in the Oregon coast aquarium when I was a young girl. In my 20's, I ventured to Alaska to live and work on a National Geographic ship for 6 months, where I saw humpback whales bubble-net feeding, and orcas spy hopping regularly. I then followed the humpbacks to Maui. In the early mornings, I'd drag my kayak down to the beach, paddle out about 45 minutes, and hang out with them for hours. The aliveness I feel when I'm out at sea with a humpback right under my kayak is truly magical. I love it." Aemi Sullivan, Artist
