"SPF 100" Original

This painting captures an unadulterated moment of childhood—sun-warmed skin, freckled cheeks, and the immediacy of being outdoors on a hot summer day. Rendered with expressive brushwork and a vibrant green palette, the figure exists between portrait and memory. Loose, confident strokes across the landscape contrast with more carefully observed details in the face, allowing presence and emotion to take priority over refinement. Time spent playing with a water hose speaks to a kind of childhood where joy comes from what’s on hand, not from anything expensive, grounding the work in a simple, familiar experience. Painted in a contemporary figurative style, this original acrylic on canvas balances realism with painterly abstraction, inviting viewers to reconnect with early summers shaped by freedom, curiosity, and being fully present.
