Specac Mini Film Maker Kit

The Specac Mini-Film Maker Kit is an advanced accessory for producing high-quality thin films of polymers and plastics, specifically designed for infrared (IR) transmission analysis. Perfect for laboratories that require quick, easy, and reproducible film production, this kit is ideal for both research and quality control environments. The Mini-Film Maker Kit includes an integrated hydraulic press, digital temperature controller, and heated platens, along with a lightweight film maker assembly. It allows users to quickly press and release sample films with thicknesses ranging from 15 to 500 microns (nominal) and sample melt points from ambient up to 250°C. Film sizes are consistently reproducible, thanks to the dedicated film maker assembly and precise sizing rings. The kit shortens the film-making process cycle time significantly, often achieving a complete cycle in under 5 minutes. Typical uses include quantitative analysis of polymers for regulatory, production quality assurance, method development, and tensile strength studies. Easy film removal and ready compatibility with standard 3 x 2 inch self-adhesive cards facilitate direct use in IR spectrometers. Kit contents: Mini-Film Maker Press with temperature controller, Film Maker Assembly with Sizing Rings (15, 25, 50, 100, 250, 500 microns), cooling plate, aluminum foil discs (200 pairs), 10 Specacards, stainless steel tweezers, and international power leads.
