The Space Fun Seating Rug brings a bold mission-control grid to circle time, with ringed and striped planets, blasting rockets, cratered gray moons, Earth globes, and grinning astronaut helmets arranged across a deep black starry background, giving every child a clearly defined personal spot with plenty of visual energy to spare. Actual seating may vary depending on student size and classroom layout. Rug Size Kindergarten 1st Grade 2nd Grade 3rd Grade 6' x 8'4 24 20 15 15 7'6 x 12' 24 24 24 20 Perfect for preschool, kindergarten, and early elementary classrooms building a space or STEM unit, this rug leans into high-energy, thematic engagement rather than a muted palette, it's built for classrooms that want the room to feel like an adventure, not a calm-down corner. The mix of five recurring motifs feature planets, rockets, moons, Earth globes, and astronaut helmets gives teachers a built-in grouping system. Call out a motif and have students who are sitting on it move together, pair up, or line up, without any extra materials or setup. Teaching Ideas Space vocabulary & science connections Use the named objects on the rug like planets, moons, Earth, rockets to introduce basic space vocabulary during a science unit. Students can find and name their own spot's object before sitting down, turning attendance into a quick vocabulary check. Grid counting & coordinates The structured grid layout makes it easy to introduce rows, columns, and simple coordinates. Count rockets, sort by motif, or practice “find your row and column” games for early spatial math skills. Roll call & transitions Assign each student a spot by name or image. Roll call becomes instant, and students know exactly where to land for circle time, making morning routines and transitions between activities faster and calmer.
