Created in 1988, this Soviet workplace safety poster was designed to encourage attentiveness on construction sites. The Russian text, “Будьте внимательны!” translates to “Be Attentive!” A watchful eye in profile reinforces the message of awareness and caution while working. The poster was published by Stroyizdat, the Soviet state publishing house specializing in construction and building materials. It was part of an occupational safety series approved by the trade union representing workers in the construction and building materials industries. Designed by D. I. Agayan during the final years of the Soviet Union, the poster reflects the increasingly simplified and modern graphic approach found in late-Soviet public information campaigns. Rather than illustrating a specific workplace accident, Agayan uses the eye as a direct symbol of vigilance and attention. Size: 23.75" x 16.75" Artist: D.I. Agayan Condition: Very Good, Age-appropriate wear, fading and toning. Light border and corner wear. Please use the photo zoom feature to get a better understanding of overall condition. *Additional photos available upon request.
