A Rare Highland Harvest. While we work to rebuild our local apiary here in Boone County, we’ve gone straight to the source to bring you the finest honey the mountains have to offer. This Sourwood Honey is harvested by master beekeepers in Tucker County, West Virginia, deep within the High Allegheny region of the Appalachian Highlands. It is a true "Highlands" treasure, curated by us for its exceptional purity and world-class flavor. What Makes It Unique: The Highland Terroir: Parsons is located in the rugged heart of the Monongahela National Forest region. The high altitude and clean mountain air produce a Sourwood nectar that is widely considered the gold standard for honey purists. Flavor Profile: Despite the name, Sourwood isn’t sour. It features a rich, buttery, caramel-like sweetness with a distinctive "warm spice" finish—reminiscent of cinnamon and cloves. The Texture: Naturally resistant to crystallization, this honey remains liquid and translucent, showcasing its deep amber glow. Best Paired With: A true "stand-alone" honey. Perfect on a warm buttermilk biscuit, stirred into a dark bourbon cocktail, or enjoyed simply by the spoonful. Use All raw honey will eventually begin to crystallize. To re-liquify, place jar in warm water. Caution Do not feed honey to infants under one year of age. Ingredients Raw Sourwood Honey.
