It is rated 1 amp and connects by atlas light-board replacement (also fits some intermountain models). As an MC2 series decoder it runs on both DC and DCC, so it will work on a plain power pack as well as a command station, and it supports optional three-point speed curves via CVs 5 and 6. Look at the sound decoders instead — this one is motor and lights only. FAQ Does this make engine sound? No. Mobile decoders drive the motor and lights only. For sound, choose a Tsunami2, Blunami or Econami sound decoder. Will it run on my DC power pack? Yes. MC2 series decoders run on both DC and DCC. What does the model number mean? MC2H104AT breaks down as: MC2 series (DC and DCC), H for HO scale, 1 amp, 04 function outputs, and the connector type. Will it fit my locomotive? It measures 74 x 17 x 3mm and connects by atlas light-board replacement (also fits some intermountain models). Check that against your locomotive before ordering — the other MC decoders use different connectors and sizes.
