Video Workshop: Solvent Solutions - Jelly Bean Class with Judith Selcuk

Blend-In to Stand Out! In this video workshop Judith will show you the techniques and tips to use solvents effectively, while creating a beautiful sunset with your colored pencils. You'll learn how to avoid common pitfalls such as patchy areas, streaky spots, and oily smears. Solvents can be a joy to use, creating velvety smooth lay down of pigment and allowing layers to be blended, moved and manipulated. Once dry, within minutes colored pencil can be reapplied to add more vibrancy and depth. In this video you will be taught the core skills of using solvents to bring home and use with all of your pencil art. In this video workshop you'll learn: • When there is enough pigment on the paper to start blending with solvents effectively. • How to apply the solvent on to the paper correctly with a brush or cotton wool, avoiding common pitfalls. • How to apply another layer of pencil on top of solvent to increase depth and saturation without taking off the previous layer.
