Solid Stem

Phyllostachys Purpurata 'Solid Stem' is a rare species that can grow well in areas where water does not drain well, earning it the nickname “wet bamboo”. The rhizomes have special air channels that allow the bamboo to survive wet conditions that other species can not tolerate. Solid stem is extremely cold hardy and a vigorous grower, making it an excellent option for a privacy screen. The bamboo has characteristics of being flexible, resistant to splitting, and solid lower canes, making the species very useful for woodworking.
