SOLID STATE SUCKS

9 AMPS, 33 KEMPER PROFILES, AND TONE MATCHED IR’S ON HELIX PLATFORMS This pack was inspired by the infamous Solid State Sucks episode from the JHS Show. With over a million views, we’re proving that solid state does not suck. These amps are weird, wonderful, cheap, and sometimes misunderstood.  A Literal Crate 7 KEMPER PROFILES AND TONEX CAPTURES AND 1 TONE MATCHED IR FOR HELIX PLATFORMS This is an original Crate amp. Inside an actual wooden crate. It sounds exactly like it looks—raw, strange, and amazing. Alamo Challenger 3 KEMPER PROFILES AND TONEX CAPTURES AND 1 TONE MATCHED IR FOR HELIX PLATFORMS I got this amp and a guitar from Nick, the co-host of the JHS Show, in a trade for an Xbox or something, and it was totally worth it. Alamo amps can be heard on iconic recordings by Wilco, ZZ Top, and more.  EHX Dirt Road Special (Reissue) 10 KEMPER PROFILES AND TONEX CAPTURES AND 1 TONE MATCHED IR FOR HELIX PLATFORMS A newer version of the amp originally designed by Bob Myer, inventor of the Big Muff. The “Bite” control  creates a distortion texture unlike anything else. You’ve got to try it. TS = 1984 Ibanez 808 + = $500k Klon Grunge (DOD) 2 KEMPER PROFILES AND TONEX CAPTURES AND 1 TONE MATCHED IR FOR HELIX PLATFORMS The DOD FX69 Grunge is the greatest distortion pedal ever made. I will not be taking questions. DOD made an amp version, which we modelled here. Is it good? You tell me. Ice-It (DOD) 2 KEMPER PROFILES AND TONEX CAPTURES AND 1 TONE MATCHED IR FOR HELIX PLATFORMS Naturally, DOD followed up the Grunge amp with this, complete with built-in chorus, because of course. This amp feels like it’s made out of hardened paper towels, and you need to try it. Alamo Capri 3 KEMPER PROFILES AND TONEX CAPTURES AND 1 TONE MATCHED IR FOR HELIX PLATFORMS This little guy looks like a motel intercom from Route 66, which is fitting because it sounds like road-trip music. It’s lo-fi, vibey, and criminally cool. Roland Jazz Chorus 6 KEMPER PROFILES AND TONEX CAPTURES AND 1 TONE MATCHED IR FOR HELIX PLATFORMS No explanation needed. If you know, you know. OD = Overdrive Channel Mike Matthews Freedom Amp 4 KEMPER PROFILES AND TONEX CAPTURES AND 1 TONE MATCHED IR FOR HELIX PLATFORMS This late-‘70s EHX amp eventually evolved into the Dirt Road Special and was used by The Ramones. It’s gritty, loud, and soaked in NYC punk history. Grind It (DOD) 3 KEMPER PROFILES AND TONEX CAPTURES AND 1 TONE MATCHED IR FOR HELIX PLATFORMS You thought we were done with weird DOD amps? Think again. This one’s like the Grunge amp if it wasn’t the Grunge amp, and it rules.  ** Kemper / Helix Amp Packs are digital software products.  All sales are non-returnable, non-refundable, and final.  These products only work with the Kemper or Helix platforms.
