Solid State Logic THE BUS+ expands the original SSL Bus Compressor circuit into a 2U analog processor for mixing, mastering, stereo buses, stems, and individual sources. Its 100 percent analog signal path uses 2181 THAT VCAs, while digitally controlled stepped front panel controls provide precise settings and easier manual recall. Four operating modes include Classic Stereo, Sigma Sidechain Stereo, Dual Mono, and Mid Side, giving engineers substantially more control over how compression responds across a mix. Shape Compression to the MaterialThree compression colors change the processor's behavior without replacing its core Bus Compressor circuit. LOW THD reduces low frequency distortion created by compression. Feed Back mode produces a more relaxed compression characteristic. 4K Mode changes the VCA operation and adds adjustable harmonic distortion for more coloration. Additional attack and release settings, negative ratios, a variable sidechain high pass filter up to 300 Hz, and a Mix control extend THE BUS+ from subtle bus control to parallel and creative compression. Dynamic EQ for Targeted Tonal ControlThe 2-band parallel analog Dynamic EQ provides separate LF and HF processing with compression and expansion modes. Each band offers 16 selectable frequency points, three time constant choices, and an adjustable range from 0.5 dB to 15 dB. The processor can place the Bus Compressor before or after the Dynamic EQ, allowing engineers to choose how dynamic and tonal processing interact within the analog signal path.
