Soft Nose

MCCOLLOUGH PEAKS, WYOMING, 2021 Limited Edition of 50 When I was a child, my mother caught me, at three years old, having crawled through barbed wire, standing under what was believed to be an unruly grey horse that lived behind our last remaining one acre parcel in a fast sparling urban environment in Minnesota.  My very pregnant mother, waddled across that acre, scared to death trying to reach me.  When she finally made it to the fenceline, she was helpless as she wasn't able to reach between the barbed wire being so very pregnant. She said the horse stood quietly as I was directly underneath him, with my fingers up his nose saying "look mommy, horsey".  I have since of course learned, this is a soft, dry and velevetly place that if a horse trusts you, will gently fall asleep if you caress them here just so.  Magic was a play that day, I'm certain.
