Sofala - Vintage Distressed Rug - 5'3 X 8'10

This hand-woven, one-of-a-kind piece celebrates Anatolian heritage through a flatwoven construction, showcasing a faded patina with abrash detail and an overdyed finish. Featuring a low-pile, no-shed, high-traffic durable, layering-friendly, underfloor-heating safe, reversible weave, soft-touch, distressed character, ghost-pattern, 70s craftsmanship, cotton-polyester blend, single-piece artisanal, and sun-bleached tones. About This Style Vintage rugs are designed to evoke an antique aesthetic, often featuring faded tones, abrash-like colour variation, and worn-look surface treatments. Distressed rugs utilise specific surface treatments to mimic age, including selectively faded zones or erased pile that reveals the rug's base structure. In many cases, this is achieved through overdyeing, where the rug is submerged in a saturated colour bath, leaving ghost traces of the original pattern visible beneath the wash. Where It Works The flatwoven construction allows this rug to lie perfectly flat, making it highly functional for high-traffic areas such as hallways, entryways, and kitchens. It is compatible with underfloor heating systems and serves as an ideal base for layering over larger carpets. Why Choose This Rug? — Features a distinct turquoise palette with a distressed finish that highlights the intricate ghost-pattern motifs. — Constructed from a cotton and polyester blend, offering the breathability of cotton with the moisture resistance and durability of polyester. — The flatwoven, no-pile design ensures a stable surface that is easy to maintain and resistant to shedding. — These rugs reference the Anatolian hand-weaving tradition; each piece is one-of-a-kind, with minor variations in colour and pattern that are characteristic of vintage-style production. — Highly durable design suited for busy households, with a reversible weave that extends the life of the piece.
